We had the
same problem.

It started the way most of these things do: a garage door left open overnight. Nothing was taken, but it easily could have been — and the remote that came with the house couldn't tell us whether the door was actually shut, only whether we'd pressed the button.

So we went looking for something that would just tell us the truth about our own garage. Everything we found either wanted a subscription to check a door sensor, or needed an electrician to fit it. Neither felt right for what should be a simple problem.

So we built Garage Guardian for ourselves first: a sensor that reports the real state of the door, a hub that works with the motor you already have, and a free app with no subscription. It worked well enough on our own garage that we decided to make it for everyone else's too.
